Back To The Future Part II (The 2015 Hill Valley Scenes)
Tuesday Oct 20, 2015
Tuesday Oct 20, 2015
Join Shawn, Scott, and Hamish (joining the show from "the future" AKA Australia) as they take a very special trip back to the present and discuss every little detail of the 2015 Hill Valley scene from the iconic 1989 film "Back To The Future Part II" to see just how close it was in predicting the world we now live in. And when we say every little detail, we mean EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! They'll discuss how the movie's predictions of products, movies, advertisements, cars, fashion, sports, and news stories hold up and other little details you may have missed. Listen as they review, among many other things, every news item from Doc's copy of the USA Today, the items in the antique store window, the Chicago Cubs winning the 2015 World Series, and of course the Hoverboard. Some predictions were dead-on, while others may require another 30-year DeLorean trip to actually see. So, c'mon all you bojos, ride your hoverboards into town, meet us in front of the Cafe 80's and explore with us the Wednesday, October 21, 2015 we've always dreamed about!
This is only part one! For part two, we will discuss the 2015 McFly House scenes! Look for it...in the future!

Challenge of the Super Friends: Wanted: The Super Friends
Monday Oct 12, 2015
Monday Oct 12, 2015
Join Shawn and Scott as they have a blast picking apart every hilarious logical flaw in the first episode of Hanna-Barbera's third adaptation of the Justice League of America comic books: 1978's "Challenge of the Super Friends"! Listen as they give you the rundown of the Super Friends team, including the three heroes created just for the cartoon. They'll tell you why the Legion of Doom is the most inconsiderate bunch of house guests, why Lex Luthor should've known that Clark Kent is Superman within the first few minutes of the series, why Hawkman's other power is opening storage compartments, how the show's creators tried to jump on the Star Wars bandwagon, and much, much more! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash? All in one place? How could it go wrong? Well...many ways, apparently. But it's a ton a fun! So fire up the ol' dream machine for a while and enjoy the show! Best yet to come!

COMMENTARY: Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope
Monday Sep 28, 2015
Monday Sep 28, 2015
Join Scott and special guest, Star Wars expert Paul as they travel a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Where merchandising was scant and the "clone wars" were nothing but a couple of throwaway lines. When one stormtrooper was tall enough to accidentally hit his head entering a room because he wasn't a genetic copy of Jango Fett. When "the Force" was just "the Force", and not something that could be cleared up with penicillin. That's right, they started at the true beginning and watched "Star Wars"! (Or "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope") Listen as they give you a ton of information you may have never heard before and details you may have missed. They'll tell you what's been changed, who's who, and why this space epic is truly one of the greatest film of all time. (Oh, and Paul will tell you why R5-D4 might me the most important character in the trilogy...allegedly.)
It's a regular episode, but as an added bonus, it also syncs up as a commentary for the movie! So, if you can, queue up your copy of the movie and watch along with us!

COMMENTARY: Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Monday Sep 21, 2015
Monday Sep 21, 2015
Join Scott and special guest, Star Wars expert Paul as they travel down a painful road, delve deep into a dark memory from their childhoods, and watch George Lucas' first installment of the Star Wars prequels: the infamous "Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace"! Listen as they discuss some of the terrible CGI, the crazy names and backstories for the many background characters, and make a somewhat modest defense for Jake Lloyd. (Hey, he was just a kid.) They'll point out cameos you may have missed, talk about "Episode I Racer" for Nintendo 64, and reminisce about falling for the hype and buying merchandise for the movie. All in real time as they watch the movie!!! Oh, and a "mystery guest" also calls in!
It's a regular episode, but as an added bonus, it also syncs up with the movie! So, if you can, pop in your copy of the movie and listen along, otherwise just listen and enjoy our misery!

They'll breakdown some of the lyrical variations of songs in this episode, explain the brilliance of their musical wordplay and subtlety of their comedic delivery, and tell you why this is a show you should track down and watch. So check it out, and if you don't like it: Why? W- Why? W-why? Be more constructive with your feedback!

Monday Aug 31, 2015
Monday Aug 31, 2015

Listen as they discuss the history of the Clone Wars, from a throwaway line delivered by Mark Hamill in 1977's Star Wars to George Lucas' 2002 CGI monstrosity Attack of the Clones to Genndy Tartakovsky's 2003 animated masterpiece and beyond. Sure, they'll gripe about the prequels, but they'll also tell you what makes this animated "microseries" so special, and why it deserves your notice. The listener is the heart of the podcast!
