Tom Goes to the Mayor: Glass Eyes
Tuesday May 10, 2016
Tuesday May 10, 2016
Join Scott, and um, a familiar guest, as they review "Glass Eyes", a hilarious episode of the Adult Swim animated cult hit, created by Tim and Eric: "Tom Goes To the Mayor"! Listen as they discuss how Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim mailed copies of their funny videos to their comedic idols, and how one recipient gave them their big break. They'll also talk about the original pitch for the show, why this episode had to be rewritten numerous times, and the complicated absurdity of this episode, which required Tim and Eric to make a chart in their office. From community spirit, shopping, and food, to barrel goats, archery, and glass eyes, this one has it all. So sit back with a hoogie, protect your eyes, and enjoy the show!

Tuesday May 03, 2016
Tuesday May 03, 2016
Join Scott and his special guests, husband and wife team, Kevin and Sarah, as they review the pilot episode of the hilarious police procedural spoof, "Angie Tribeca", created by another husband and wife team, Steve Carell and Nancy Walls. Listen as they discuss the shows' incredible joke density, from visual gags you would have missed, to the brilliant acting of Rashida Jones (in the title role of Angie Tribeca) and her 237th partner J. Geils, played by Hayes MacArthur. They'll also talk about the many celebrity guests and cameos that appear throughout season one, such as Rashida Jones' real life father Quincy Jones, Bill Murray, Keegan-Michael Key, and even a very funny guest appearance by the actual mayor of Los Angeles playing a security guard for the mayor of Los Angeles. There's so much to cover and not enough space to do it in the description, so with all due respect, listen to this episode!

Interning for Conan (w/ Jeff D'Silva)
Monday Apr 25, 2016
Monday Apr 25, 2016
Join Scott and his very special guest, comedian Jeff D'Silva, as they discuss Jeff's amazing story of getting to work at one of television's funniest late night shows. The year was 2010: At the same time Conan O'Brien was realizing his dream of hosting the Tonight Show, Jeff saw his dream of interning for Conan being realized as well, but both of those dreams quickly came crashing down with the news that Jay Leno was returning as host The Tonight Show. Listen as Jeff recounts his surreal experience of having one of the biggest shakeups in television history shape the future of, not only one of his comedic idols, but himself as well. Of course, the story doesn't end there! Jeff also talks about getting another chance, this time interning at the TBS show "Conan", and his amazing experience working closely with some of late night's funniest and most creative minds. There's also some talk about the disastrous Jay Leno Show and Jeff shares the story of his celebrity-filled brush with death (ok, maybe minor injury). Enjoy the show!

Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp: Lance of Arabia/The Doctor Goes A.P.E.
Monday Apr 18, 2016
Monday Apr 18, 2016
Join Scott and Steve as they take a look back at a very peculiar Saturday morning live-action kids show, the 70s chimpanzee spy comedy "Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp"! Listen as they break down the two stories "Lance of Arabia" and "The Doctor goes A.P.E.". They'll discuss many crazy behind the scenes details about the show, revealed by its Emmy winning (not for this) creators Stan Burns and Mike Marmer in the great documentary short "I Created Lancelot Link". From television innovations and million dollar budgets to castrations and maulings, this show truly had it all. They'll also talk about the struggles the show had with the main chimp actors, Torgo and Debbie, including ordering custom clothing and shoes, and teaching them how behave like humans as voice actors ad-libbed over them. There's plenty of old jokes, terrible stereotypes, tired sequences, chimpanzees playing instruments and gruesome tales of primate revenge. And, oh yeah, if that wasn't enough, a hawk rides a chimp, riding a camel! Crazy. So have a banana, and listen to us laugh at one of the strangest shows in television history.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Teaser Trailer)
Tuesday Apr 12, 2016
Tuesday Apr 12, 2016
Join Scott and his guests, Hamish and Paul, as they analyze every frame of the latest offering from the Star Wars franchise: the teaser trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"! Listen as they discuss how the premise for this film had been hidden in plain sight within A New Hope the whole time, and how the genesis of this movie was nothing more than a quick pitch from a longtime Lucas Film employee. They'll discuss the many rumors surrounding Felicity Jones' character, Jyn Erso, if Diego Luna is playing Poe Dameron's father, if Darth Vader will make an appearance, where Forrest Whittaker, Donny Yen, and Wen Jiang's characters fit into the story, if Palpatine, Snoke, or someone else is inside of that glowing column, if Alan Tudyk is playing a converted Empire droid, and much, much more! From new characters and locations to familiar ships and bases, they discuss it all! We are only a few months away from yet another Star Wars movie! So speculate along with us and may the force be with you!

Captain America: Civil War (Comics and Trailers)
Monday Apr 04, 2016
Monday Apr 04, 2016
Join Scott and his guests, Kevin, and Civil War comics expert, Chet, as they delve deep and gear up for the much anticipated release of the latest movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "Captain America: Civil War"! They'll first breakdown the seven-part Civil War comic book miniseries by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, released in 2006, and theorize what story elements may be translated to the screen, what may be changed, and what the volumes of supplemental Civil War comics material add to this story. Then, they breakdown the two major Civil War movie trailers, and discuss how these scenes relate to the previous films of the MCU as well as the original comics source material. (As well as the first looks at Black Panther and Spider-Man!) Will there be another "Stamford incident"? Will another hero die? How will the character of Spider-Man be used in this story? Will Crossbones kill Captain America? All of these questions are tacked, and much much more! So step out of your cryonic containment, brush your perfect teeth, and enjoy the show! (After all, we could do this all day.)

One Crazy Summer (w/ Graig Murphy)
Tuesday Mar 22, 2016
Tuesday Mar 22, 2016
Join Scott and his very special guest, standup comedian and WEEI Whiner Line Hall of Famer Graig Murphy, as they discuss one of the greatest (and underrated) comedic films of the 1980s: One Crazy Summer! They'll start by recounting their past experiences as award winning callers to The Big Show's Whiner Line, once one of the most popular sports radio segments in Boston, and their very different reactions to trying to tell jokes to a large, local celebrity filled crowd. From there, they discuss the other major thing they have in common: growing up constantly watching One Crazy Summer. Listen as they discuss the masterful writing and direction of Savage Steve Holland, the great animated rhino sequences, the many Cape Cod locations at which it was filmed, the hilariously absurd sight gags, subtle jokes you may missed, and why the rules of the Nantucket Regatta are apparently rarely enforced. From the great casting of John Cusack, Demi Moore, Bobcat Goldthwait, Joel Murray, Curtis Armstrong, and Joe Flaherty, to the possibility of the sequel "One Epic Fall", they cover it all! So sit back, grab a garbage bag sized popcorn, and listen for the jingle.
