They'll talk about the history of the characters of Space Ghost, from the 1960's Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Space Ghost and Dino-Boy", to Adult Swim spin offs like "The Brak Show", and even DC Comics like "Future Quest"! They'll also discuss the great voice work of the late C. Martin Croker, who voiced the hilarious villains Zorak and Moltar and the great musical work of the late Sonny Sharrock. Plus, Shawn will also talk about the amazing experience of seeing Weird Al Yankovic live! Join Scott and Shawn as they breakdown and review the pilot episode of DC Comics' hit series about Superman's cousin and her decision to devote her life to becoming a superhero: Supergirl! Listen as they detail the long history of the character of Supergirl, from a girl magically wished into existence by Jimmy Olsen in the 1950's (then crushed by a meteor), to Kara's death and resurrection, and a very poorly reviewed movie. Join Lily, Shawn, Scott, and special guest, Steve, as they subject themselves to a painful viewing of the short lived 70's sci-fi sitcom about a heroic space garbage man and his eccentric crew and their adventures in the 23rd century: "Quark"! Listen as they breakdown the first regular episode entitled "May The Source Be With You", a terribly written parody of Star Wars. They'll discuss the interesting cast, from the director of The Money Pit, Richard Benjamin, and the dad from Mork & Mindy, Conrad Janis, to the former Doublemint Twins, Cyb and Patricia Barnstable, and the, um, cerebral Allan Caillou. They'll talk lots about what made this show cheesy, offensive, and boring, and why Andy the Android is probably the crappiest robot in all of science fiction. Are the evil "Gorgons" simply people in purple clothes being led around in a giant head by Chevy Chase in a Darth Vader helmet? Why power a spaceship with a glowing egg in a lava room with a monster splashing around in a kiddie pool? Can a plant look like a man? Do gamma rays tickle? Join Scott and Steve as they party like it's 1999 and review "Breakaway" the first episode of an oft-forgotten campy piece of 70s science fiction: Space: 1999! From its strangely placed funky theme song, to its bland, impractical uniforms, they talk about it all! Listen as they detail the adventure of the newly appointed Moonbase Alpha commander, John Koenig and Dr. Helena Russell (played by a disgruntled Martin Landau and his, at the time, wife, Barbara Bain), as they attempt to solve the mystery of the cleverly named "Meta-probe astronaut virus infection" (which also might be radiation or magnetism) and...oh yeah, while they are working on the case, THE ENTIRE MOON breaks away from Earth's orbit! They'll also discuss the show's rocky start, from personal problems among the cast and crew to technical issues in the filming and production, and how this entire series was really intended to be another season of the previously failed sci-fi series "UFO". So zip up your sleeve, grab a cup of introspective tea, and laugh at the future of 1999 with us!
